Having been born in Puerto Rico to Dominican parents before moving to the Latino-dominated Washington Heights neighborhood of New York, Tony Swing's bio reads a lot like a modern blueprint for merengue stardom. Along those lines, Tony began working as a DJ by the young age of ten, allowing him access to the New York night club scene, which would prove to be early training grounds for the young vocalist. Quickly developing a taste for the stage, Tony began singing professionally and not long after was hooked up with a number of locally and nationally performing bands. With a large following both in the states and Latin America, Por Fin! seemed the natural next step. The aptly named release showcases the singer's suave, unique vocal approach. Laced with modern urban influence, Tony Swing delivers red-hot merengue with a very contemporary flair. There's a refreshing variety in the repertoire.
